Excited to Host Friends & Family
By removing the walls that closed off the kitchen from the dining and living rooms, the floor plan opened up to allow for a desired island with seating for guests to share good food and stories. To maintain the classic exterior look of the 1920s bungalow home, the front window was preserved by creating a bench between countertops to offer a welcoming place to sit to gaze at frequent walkers going by or to converse during a party. White custom cabinets and backsplash offer a crisp and clean modern look. The refinished wood floor blends the front and back areas of the main level. A bonus to the project was carving out a little space from a bedroom office to make a much appreciated main level laundry room.
